Why does this part keep doing this
Vegemite, Tim Tams, Golden Gaytime - what do all of these things have in common? Delicious, "can't live without them" foods, yes. They are also Australian Made.  A recent study by Roy Morgan found 90% of Australians are more likely to buy a product that is "Made in Australia".

When it comes to our clothes, only 76% of people say they are more likely to buy Australian made. So why should more Aussie's consider Australian made clothes?

1. Reduced Carbon Footprint
It's kind of depressing when our clothes are traveling more than we are. But typically our garments fabric are printed in one part of the world, assembled in another and then sold in the final destination. And whilst we all love travel, with the billions of garments being produced every year this means massive greenhouse gas emissions. Clearly buying in the country your item is made means less carbon footprint.

2. Vote With Your Dollar
Over time we seem to have found belief in the ideology of quantity over quality. Spend the least amount possible and that equates to a good deal. But this is not always the case. By using your dollar to make a statement that you infact are for quality over quantity you will increase demand. Basic economics teaches us supply is directly correlated to demand which means spending your money in Australia will drive up demand, and the market in turn will support demand.

3. Support the Australian Economy
Similar to point number 2 using your dollar to buy local means an increase in demand. Which also means a boost in our economy and more opportunities for employment, particularly in manufacturing, rather than these roles being shipped overseas.

4. All but Guaranteed Ethically Made
Whilst overseas manufacturing can still be ethical there are many companies who currently take advantage of cheap labour. Particularly in some countries in Asia & South America where there are little to no regulations on working conditions. Workers are often paid poorly & work in unsafe conditions with no legal standing. Australia has strict working regulations that protect a worker's health & safety as well as a living minimum wage. So you are guaranteed ethical production when buying Australian Made.

5. Have Confidence in Quality
Again, not all overseas manufacturing will mean a lower standard of quality however when you buy Australian made you know you are buying something made to last. Australia has a reputation for producing some of the highest quality products in the world due to its strict regulations and high standards.
